2. It was a twelve classes session i took last year with teacher Doris here in Maracaibo, and it was an online course. All of it was related to teaching with new technologies. I don't remember the name exactly right now ;-)

7. It was a prerequisite online course for attending a Virtual University. Those who passed the course successfully would be allowed to register. It was about Islam. We would attend the virtual classes, study the main material and extra sources, ask our questions via email or yahoo messenger and answer questions (quizzes), write essays, do research related to the topic and at the end of the course we took part in a synchronous exam.

I have been attending a distance learning post-graduate course with an orientation towards Linguistics and Second Language Acquisition with an intranet virtual platform mode through which we communicate with our teachers and peers, we take part in forums, chat, e-mail each other and submit our reseach papers for correction.
9. Iw was a course designed by Thompson. It was called "Teaching Lexically". I took almost all the lessons, but I wasn't able to finish it due to lack of time. I found it really interesting.

14. Several courses run by USIS. over the years First with the basics, than gradually moved ahead as I gained practice. Some of them were very demanding, and well worth the efforts. Also run by the Hungarian Ministry of Education.
15. I registered for Moodle in 2005, but had to drop out after a few weeks as it was too overwhelming and a bit confusing. I hadn't realized what a commitment online learning can be.

I felt it was very difficult: too much information too fast, and the other thing that made it really difficult was that the professor made no effort to proofread the course materials, so they were completely misspelled, words were left out--all kinds of random mistakes that made it hard either to understand or respect what he was doing.

20. I took a Spanish course but just for a month. It was not really good. I'm taking a Modern Greek course now. It works with audio lessons and written transcriptions and comments on them. But one of the best parts is the forum, where students help each other giving tips on how to learn best, good links, and help on pronunciation or any doubts a colleague may have. It is great. I participate also in e-mail discussion groups.

32. Two years ago I took Erlyn Baack's course "Reading and Writing about short stories". It consisted in reading a short story a week, posting an essay about it and commenting on each other's essays. In 2005 I did a postgraduate course about Distance Education. It was blended learning style: 3 meetings and the rest of the course was online. I have just finished a Microsoft Office course.
33. At the school I work, we have to take several courses on line. There is no personnal contact, the articles and exercises are sent on line, we read them, work the exercises out and send them back. Later we receive the final mark. Most of the times we don't get to know the person who is in charge of the course.
