Aiden Yeh
Week 4
October 5 |
Aiden Yeh is a Ph.D
Candidate at the University of Birmingham. She is a Lecturer at Wen
Zao Ursuline College of Languages, Taiwan <http://www.wtuc.edu.tw/version/english/new2/>.
Aiden says: "The topic of my research is about the plight of
Taiwanese EFL [English as Foreign Language] teachers in private supplementary
schools or what is known as cram schools or the infamous bu-xi-bans.
The title of my research is "An Investigation on attitudes
and teaching practices of Taiwanese EFL teachers in private supplementary
schools" I'd be looking at the implications of self-evaluation
and change toward professional development.
This research is a continuation of my MSc in ELT Management research
about NNS EFL Teachers in Taiwan, for abstract go to this site: http://www.surrey.ac.uk/ALRG/dissertations/Yeh_A_2001.html
I've been contemplating about my PhD research for a year now and I
feel that I've got to get it moving. I've been reluctant and hesitant
about something, that something is still unclear to me, even up to
now. Perhaps it's the fear of finding out that there's little that
can be done to alleviate the situation of whatever it is that I'm
looking for in my study".

talk and read her research page at: http://dcyeh.com/aiden_phd/
